Each week I share one true YES and one true NO — small acts of defiance, joy or self-respect.
💌 YES/NO of the Week (From Me)
Here’s what I’ve got for Week 6:
YES: I am making time to see my best friend on Saturday, no matter what else needs to be done.
YES also to seeing family and friends even though I find doing things generally stressful.
NO: To letting anyone INCLUDING ME make me feel OTT bad about mistakes I genuinely can’t help making.
This week, I messed up the Tesco order - forgot to save it in time and ended up with nothing but a single bunch of bananas scheduled to arrive. Classic. Cue major shame spiral.
But you know, I ordered another shop.
No one died. Not even a tiny bit.
And most importantly, after a bit of beating myself up, I didn’t beat myself up (for long).
Okay so my mum had to intervene a bit so this is partly a future NO. But it's a biggy.
IF I CAN JUST GRASP IT.
In case anyone needs a reminder: its okay to make mistakes. You're juggling a lot.
This week's YES and NO seem pretty paltry but hey, at least I'm trying.
(Look at me just sneaking in a bit of criticism, shame and blame here. What work there is still to do!)
💬 Now you: What was your YES this week? Your NO?
Did you choose joy over duty? Say no even when it was awkward? Tell me in the comments or hit reply — I’d love to share one of yours next time (with or without your name).
P.s. the personalised comic strip bribe still stands. 🎨
A great post Chelsey! My big yes: YES, after 40 years as a type 1 diabetic, this week I scored my best ever annual blood test score! My no: NO, I’m not letting my day be ruined by the fact that I haven’t achieved what I set out to achieve today. (I was TOTALLY letting it ruin my day til I read your post, so thanks!) 😁
