I appreciate this post, and could relate a lot to accepting unacceptable behaviour from people simply because they didn't find me annoying.

I count while waiting. As a kid, I practiced until I could count to five minutes very accurately. Counting reminds me that the wait (usually) isn't that long!

“Twas a sunny day, not a cloud was in the sky! Not a negative word was heard - by the people passing by.” It is so pleasant and optimistic! 💕

Love your post ..

I used to whistle a lot.

I still can but it's not so often ..

My dad is a whistler too .

I'm good at making cheery high pitched noises through pursed lips . One of the older women I nursed once said women shouldn't hum ( an old wives tale ) . I felt bad for ages humming, like the devil was gonna visit 😂

I adore singing but don't do it as much as I used to .

Theme tune that's come to me in more recent yrs is ' There's a hero ...if u look inside your heart ....and the sorrow that you show will fade awayyyyyy ... dah dah dah. .

Also love ' I'm every women ' ..

Sometimes if I have energy I do a evening bathroom dance, watching myself in the window and if on stage whilst brushing teeth 🌟😁 🕺so much fun ....freedom .

And finally the best theme tune ever is ' Jamie and the magic torch an eighties classic .... You tube it 🙂

As for anxiety calming behaviours :

Feeling my scalp for bumps and bits ( urrrr

Running my nails on jeans and my pillow

And leg jigging .

It used to include thumb sucking but I have made conscious effort to not since my 40s ( but I have had a sneeky one at points ...

Girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do .

Thanks you for this space Moss .

Your the best

Good to share 🙂
